Join O’Neill’s Regiment
Adventure, Family, and Professional Training
Step into a living history experience like no other. O’Neill’s Regiment is a proud re-enactment unit within the Irish Brigade tradition, where camaraderie, travel, and hands‑on historical immersion meet professional standards and strict safety. Whether you’re after the thrill of drill and parade, the craft of period kit and drillsmanship, or the chance to travel to historic battlefields and international events, you’ll find a welcoming, well‑structured community here.
What we offer
Full training pathway: From basic drill and musketry etiquette to advanced parade, safety, and command courses, every new member completes a staged, mandatory training program led by experienced instructors before joining active events. Progression is transparent — you’ll always know the next skill to learn.
Travel & events: Regular local and international events across Europe — battlefield weekends, public living‑history displays, and brigade‑scale re-enactments — give members the chance to travel, make friends, and represent the O’Neill name with pride. From the south of Spain to
Kit & equipment support: New to period kit? We’ll advise on historically accurate gear, recommend trusted suppliers, and help you assemble a safe, serviceable impression. We also run periodic kit workshops and group purchases to keep costs reasonable.
Comprehensive safety culture: Safety is our first duty. We operate under a strict, military‑style chain of command and formal operating procedures to protect participants and the public. This includes mandatory safety briefs, supervised zones for any live pyrotechnic or blank‑firing activity, certified range officers or licensed pyrotechnicians on site, and immediate medical support at events. This is a dangerous hobby. People can get seriously hurt. We do everything we can to look after you.
Legal compliance & licensing guidance: We will inform members about relevant laws, licensing requirements, and local regulations for firearms, blanks, and pyrotechnics. We do not replace legal counsel — but we do assist new members in locating the proper authorities, approved training courses, and licensing bodies so you stay fully compliant.
Responsible practices: Use of real firearms and pyrotechnics is limited to licensed, controlled demonstrations performed by trained personnel only. No unsupervised live‑fire or explosive use is permitted. Background checks, age limits, and insurance requirements apply to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
Who we’re looking for

Final note on safety and legality
Our activities involve blank firing shotguns, muskets, firearms and artillery, along with controlled pyrotechnics under licensed conditions. We insist on full compliance with all applicable laws and best practices. We will help you understand what licences or certifications are needed in your jurisdiction and connect you accordingly (every country is slightly different). We do not provide technical instructions for building or modifying firearms or pyrotechnic devices — only certified professionals handle those elements.
